• This episode includes the original Oh Yeah! Cartoons short "ChalkZone" as a flashback.
  • This episode initially premiered on December 31, 1999. However, Nickelodeon delayed the series for two years. The episode (and the show) "officially" premiered on March 22, 2002. Reasons are still unknown why the show was delayed.
  • This is the first episode where Miriam Flynn plays Bathtub Granny. When she debuted in the short "ChalkZone" (which was edited into this episode), she was played by E.G. Daily, who also voices Rudy.
  • This marks the first appearances of Rudy Tabootie, Snap, Joe Tabootie, Mildred Tabootie, Bathtub Granny, Reggie Bullnerd, Mr. Wilter, Blocky, and Bullynerd in the series proper.
  • This is the first episode where Penny Sanchez is absent.
  • Ruby has detention by his principal to write like Bart Simpson blackboard gag.

  • When Rudy is being taken away by the bird at the beginning, he gains a chalk outline instead of the normal black outlines used for the real world characters (until season four when the show began to use colored outlines for the real world characters). This would remain as a consistent error through the series.
