"The Skrawl" is the first of four parts in the sixth episode of ChalkZone. As the title implies, it is the introduction of Skrawl.

Synopsis[]

Rudy and the others meet Skrawl for the first time, vengeful for making him so ugly.

Plot[]

Rudy draws a bus stop for a man in ChalkZone, where Snap gets off the bus. Snap is excited to show him and Penny the Rudy Tabootie Art Museum, with Chalk Dad as ticket taker. Once inside, Snap steps up on the vacant "Rudy's Greatest Creation." Patrons at the museum learn of the shark drawn in Bathtub Granny's tub and recreating the Rapunzel set after it was destroyed. Even the bus stop sign Rudy drew four minutes ago is in the museum. Rudy himself listens to how Bathtub Granny was created. Granny snarks about how it's humorous, with Rudy stating he didn't know at the time that drawings came to life in ChalkZone.

Snap gets Rudy's attention, as Rudy sees a model rocket he designed in fourth grade. After reuniting briefly with Blocky, Rudy receives an anonymous letter requesting his Magic Chalk be placed in a burglar proof exhibit at the museum. Rudy is skeptical, afraid of it getting into the wrong hands. Snap points out Rudy's the only one that can use it, and Penny states the barrier seems safe. Rudy relents, when the exhibit quickly grabs the chalk, unveiling a picture of a mysterious drawing. Chalk Dad wonders what that is, with Snap saying it looks like a potato bug. Penny opines a dust mite, with Bathtub Granny saying it appears to be a bunion. Rudy states he didn't draw that, and is curious what it is.

Suddenly, everyone is trapped behind bars at the museum, with an ominous voice saying "So, Rudy Tabootie... we meet face to face." The drawing over the exhibit comes to life with a laugh, revealing the voice was this mysterious creature's. Through a jazzy song, he introduces himself as Skrawl, and explains Rudy is responsible for his ugly appearance. When he asks Rudy if he recognizes him, Rudy replies that he doesn't remember, so Skrawl dangles him near a shark as punishment. He calls for his henchmen, the Beanie Boys, to carry everyone from outside the building.

Rudy now remembers Skrawl, and proceeds to tell the story of his creation: it was Michelle's birthday party, and Michelle found her party boring. She told Rudy to draw something, which he did: Skrawl's teeth. But Reggie pushes him out of the way, and proceeds to add a potato-shaped torso to the drawing. Michelle, believing it to be a "cootie," draws antennas. Lastly, several unnamed boys at the party add their own takes on the drawing, ending up with what Skrawl looks like. Rudy tells Michelle he didn't draw that, with Michelle calling it "hideous" as she erases it from the chalkboard, sending Skrawl to ChalkZone.

After Rudy tells him this is no fair, Skrawl replies his whole life has been no fair. Rudy responds it wasn't his fault Skrawl ended up this way, with Penny supporting him. However, Skrawl refuses to believe this, and so Rudy decides to offer a way to make up for his creation. However, he realizes Rudy would use the chalk against him and save everybody, but Rudy tells him he won't harm him in any way with the chalk and even give it back when he's done. But he offers Skrawl a proposition: if the drawing is something Skrawl likes, then Rudy and his friends have to be let go. When Skrawl asks if he'll be made to look good, Rudy responds he'll look great.

Skrawl lets the Magic Chalk free, and tells Rudy he has five minutes. Penny tells Snap Rudy knows what he's doing, as Rudy makes Skrawl look debonair and Skrawl is pleased with the results. However, Skrawl refuses to let them go, turning his back on the deal. Penny points out that as Skrawl himself is inside with them, he will be dropped along with the others inside the bomb. Skrawl realizes the fatal flaw in his plan, that is until Skrawl points out the rocket ship Rudy had built is his escape plan, thus explaining why Rudy couldn't find the remote. As Skrawl says goodbye to everyone, Rudy tricks him by pulling the zipper down on his jacket, trapping his arms so he can reclaim the Magic Chalk.

However, Skrawl manages to get into the rocket, but Rudy draws a lasso on it, as Rudy stays inside and uses the chalk to hang onto Skrawl's rocket. However, he realizes this is depleting the stick of chalk, so he decides to put it over the table holding the rocket, which is large enough to stay inside. The bomb drops in the ocean, with Skrawl unable to fly away as the chalk is stuck to him. This causes water from the sea to enter in, but as Skrawl left behind his remote, Rudy uses it to get everyone out of the water. They proceed to roll around ChalkZone, with the chalk letting go of the rocket. Skrawl warns Rudy hasn't seen the last of him as he flies away. Everyone, still inside the bomb, return to the Rudy Tabootie Art Museum, freeing everyone as water pours out of the bomb. Although the museum is now destroyed, Penny views it as Rudy's greatest masterpiece yet.
